Happy 200th Pride and Prejudice!

Today is the 200th birthday of one of my favorite romantic novels with a strong female character by one of the best authors of all time -- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen!!

This novel introduced one of the most captivating love story of two very stubborn people. Elizabeth Bennet has become on the best heroines in the literary and now film world. Her wit, her passion and her grace is one to be emulated. And Mr. Darcy!? Infuriating, devilishly handsome and sometimes a bumbling fool but has a heart of gold. He reminds me of my other crush, Darian Chiba of Sailor Moon. Tall, dark and handsome but yet emotionally and socially handicapped.

I would love to sit down and read this book again but alas I am way behind on my reading list. Still wanting to celebrate this day, here's an animated graphic that is hilariously witty. A less serious side to this great novel.

Leaving with a few favorite quotes from this book:

“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.”
“From the very beginning— from the first moment, I may almost say— of my acquaintance with you, your manners, impressing me with the fullest belief of your arrogance, your conceit, and your selfish disdain of the feelings of others, were such as to form the groundwork of disapprobation on which succeeding events have built so immovable a dislike; and I had not known you a month before I felt that you were the last man in the world whom I could ever be prevailed on to marry.”
“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.”
